Adaptive EXERCISE Services
Adaptive Exercise Sessions are tailored to your exact needs and goals and are focused solely on long-term health and wellness. Our trainers use moment-to-moment judgments grounded in deep familiarity with the individual client’s body, tone, fatigue, and capacity. Adaptive exercise functions as a person-centered practice grounded in teamwork, responsiveness, and mutual calibration. The outcome is not only physical capability, but the development of agency, trust, and embodied understanding on both the trainer's and trainee’s side.
We offer several types of sessions: One-on-One, Rise and Walk, Stretch, Circuit Classes, FES Bike Memberships, and Open Gym Memberships. Learn more about the benefits of each.
One-on-one Sessions
Walking Progression
Here, we are working with our hardworking client, Paul, as he progresses through walking exercises with the support of our team.
In these photos, one of our Adaptive Exercise Specialists, TJ, helps prepare Paul for walking. They begin in the parallel bars, focusing on warming up his legs, improving balance, and practicing consistent steps.
In the following photos, Paul and TJ use a walking device that helps Paul stay upright while allowing him to place weight through his arms and walk laps around our facility. This progression supports strength, coordination, endurance, and confidence with each step.
Tilt Table Training
During our Adaptive Exercise sessions, we are grateful to use our Tilt Table, made possible thanks to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Our Tilt Table provides clients with a safe and supported way to stand while receiving the added benefits of the built-in Power Plate, a high-frequency vibration platform. Because the Tilt Table is mobile, it allows our team to incorporate upper-body exercises while clients simultaneously receive weight-bearing benefits through their legs.
The Tilt Table can be adjusted from as little as 5 degrees of standing support all the way to a fully upright position at 90 degrees. This allows each session to be customized to the client’s comfort, ability level, and goals.
Potential benefits of Tilt Table training may include: lymphatic drainage, reduced swelling, muscle stimulation, improved blood flow, support for bone mineral density, and decreased muscle spasms.
